Guam - Senator Rory Respicio underscored passage of a Resolution which changes the Legislature's standing rules to require drug testing for all Senators and employees of the Legislature.

Resolution #87 passed unanimously and will now become a part of the Legislative Standing Rules.

In a release, Senator Respicio writes that "this new Drug Free Workplace Policy is critical to maintaining the public's trust and confidence in the work we were elected to perform."

Legislature Passes Drug Free Workplace Policy

April 1, 2013 – The Guam Legislature today adopted Resolution No. 87-32(LS), creating a Drug Free Work Place Policy for Senators and employees.

The resolution was introduced by Senator Rory J. Respicio, Chairman of the Committee on Rules; Federal, Foreign & Micronesian Affairs; Human & Natural Resources; and Election Reform.

"The Guam Legislature has the vital responsibility of crafting laws for our community so we must do everything possible to ensure that all Senators and employees are upholding the very laws that were passed by previous legislatures," said Senator Respicio. "This new Drug Free Workplace Policy is critical to maintaining the public's trust and confidence in the work we were elected to perform."

Resolution No. 87-32 (LS) passed unanimously and will now become a part of the Legislative Standing Rules.
